About Kim Giunta LMHC
Kim Giunta is a licensed mental health counselor who has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years. She earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of South Florida (USF). She also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tampa (UT) with a major in Psychology and a minor in Philosophy. My therapeutic approach combines this clinical experience with elements of Existential Psychology, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other therapeutic approaches tailored to each individuals’ unique needs and experiences.

I believe that you have the freedom to choose how you respond to your thoughts, and change your life in order to create a psychologically healthy self. This means no matter what kind of background you come from, no matter what degree of life challenges you may have endured, you are not ruled by your past. You do have control over creating aspects of your life from this moment on. My goal as a therapist is to help you find solutions to your problems, to help increase your self-awareness such that change can happen.
I am not an omnipotent; all knowing being that provides answers, and tells you how to live your life. I am a facilitator, helping you to find your own answers within yourself. I believe people often carry within themselves the capacity for growth and healing, though at times we may need help gaining clarity when we feel overwhelmed or disconnected from ourselves.
